Weak governments, foreign interventionists, rapacious adversaries – the situation is the same everywhere with no change in view. If the local populations continue their interior fights (Iraq and Syria) or remain passive facing invaders (Afghanistan and Mali), leaving the fight mostly to foreign interventionists, the situation won’t improve but deteriorate. The jihadists may "shine" with their "nukes for the poor" -- suicide-bombers -- and if they ever get their hands on genuine nukes, the world may expect Armageddon.
