The Rattling Kettle
You rattle with might, when you are turned on,
and I get delight to kick start the morning with my hot cup of tea.
I sip in between as I move from room-to-room to ease my patients with their complaints,
for I have to make it through my challenging day!
By midday I am ready for the second boost.
At times I have been in dismay when I quickly turn you on and return finding you cold,
what happened to your rattle I wonder!
I soon realize I did not make the needed contact in the socket to make you rattle,
and feel a sign of relief when I hear your rattle.
It gives me joy for I am sure of my ready beverage.
To top it off you don't even get treated right!
You rattle, the water bubbles fiercely and yet not everybody standing closely turns you off!
Often you end up getting dry with no water and no more rattling and you quietly suffer.
But I am glad you are not done as yet!
Any other gadget would have given up.
Others also use you,
but I have known you the longest.
Whoever brought you here did us a great favor,
ensuring our long term connection.
So do keep rattling as long as I am here, for I hold you with pride!!
You are my amazing rattling kettle.
