Nikole writes: I never wondered if there was a hidden meaning in this woodcut print. The sensuous carving, the simple black and white rendering of a classic subject, people out for a stroll in the shady woods. Then one day a friend who has collected this same print commented that she always wondered about those people. Without question she saw people who might be in trouble, perhaps seeking refuge in the woods. We bring our own experience and fears to a work of art. It never occurred to me to ask Wilek " Who were these people?"
