A proverb "hit the table and scissors will sound" is well demonstrated by the readers comments posted here in reply to my text. It is obvious that the only responses are in reference to my comment about a handful of treacherous Jews meddling in Polish politics with financial backing from foreign powers. The main idea of the text, which promotes elective democracy in Poland, was ignored like the proverbial gift of pearls for the pigs - no mention of any value here. But it is customary nowadays to expect a violent response from people, who take a two by four in their hands every time they hear the word "Jew".
It is all so ironic for me, whose father was a survivor of Auschwitz and Gross Rosen German concentration camps. I am compared to Hitler when I mention the word Jew. Quite often the Jews themselves are surprised and suspicious that my father survived those camps at all. The world is full of paranoia and conspiracies are the favorite pastime everywhere.
I shall not deny that I had great satisfaction from my forcing the Polish government, comprised mostly of Jews, to resign in Poland in 1990. Furthermore, at the time I publicly accused the Premier and his government of treason. Not because they were Jewish but because they were implementing secret directives designed to disown my countryman. For this I was declared an anti-Semite and for years afterwards many older Jewish women, when they saw me on the streets of Polish towns, would stomp on the ground, stomp over their spit and murmur something under their noses. It was quite obvious that they were Jewish not Chinese.
Even so, for all those who care what I say, I want to tell you that in general I feel pity and gratitude to the Jews. Not for the reason of the Holocaust as I heard many gory stories about the "C" camps from my father. The Germans also killed 6 million Poles during the II War (watch it Tyminski - some feel they have monopoly here). I feel pity for Jews because of their destiny to defend our way of life against the greedy Arabs who want to control the price of the oil supply. As most of us are just a few pay cheques away from welfare, I am most grateful to the Jews for fighting for us in their promised land to maintain the standard of living for the most developed countries of the world.
So for the New Year I wish them and their misguided sympathizers who cared to slander me grossly here, much wisdom, to stay true to their mission to save the world in the best tradition of famous warriors of the Masada fortress. For this sacrifice we shall remember you and love you well.
In my opinion the Israeli settlements and occupation in Palestinian territory have nothing to do with the fight against "the greedy Arabs". The media of the world reported plenty about "the New Russians" and "The Jewish Oligarchy" in Russia. Nobody was accused of anti-Semitism because it was information not propaganda. In comparison, the mention of a nonspecific "handful of Polish Jews" and "secret directives" sounds weak. Poland is an extended country, with many "handfuls" and not just handfuls there, and if some of them happen to be Jewish it doesn't seem to make a big difference. The New Russians' power, the Jewish Oligarchy's power was not occult; those people were real, tangible, with all their names and activities reported. Nobody objected to reports about them, not even themselves. WM
In the latest Vagabond Communication Page you had a letter from S. Tyminski, who as candidate to the Presidency of Poland challenged Lech Walesa. In his reminiscences he blamed, among others, Polish Jews who helped foreigners to plunder the Polish economy. I'm not Jewish and no economist, not even Polish, but I don't approve ethnic connotations for political argummnts in otherwise serious sounding dissertation.
Bill, may I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Dear Vagabond,
How can you publish this slander concerning the role of "Polish Jews" in plundering Poland? The author implies Jewish conspiracy, as if they were an organized foreign group harming the country they are from. We don't need this continuation of Nazi propaganda! He doesn't support his accusation by any facts, any names, if this is the way he led his Presidential campaign, no wonder he lost. Maybe he wanted to play on the anti-Semitic feelings of the populace to win, like Hitler did.

It's true that gratuitous statements and accusations don't add to the quality of the text. The Jewish role in post Communist Eastern Europe has been discussed for a long time in the press. I asked in January's Bouquet, 1999 "Where did those 'New Russians' come from? Why and when did this trend start? And why are they mostly Jewish?" Also, discussing the French-Jewish author's book: "The Jews, the World and Money" by Jacques Attali I stated, "Ethnicity doesn't interest me as linked to money and/or crime."
I'd rather see points of view visible and exposed to challenge than hidden under the carpet. Hidden ideas ferment and take over when you least expect, that's why an exchange of ideas refreshes the atmosphere and clarifies the mind. In the article "Western Peoples and Civilization" I wrote, "It's hard to believe that in the freest civilization -- meaning ours -- there are taboo subjects. It makes me worry for the future of democracy, because to gag people or encourage self-censorship in the name of correct political thinking is a natural enemy of democracy. It's fashionable now to fight for democracy with non-democratic methods. Many forget, though, that silence is venom; unexpressed thoughts can, like termites, destroy even the firmest foundation of a political system." WM
We are group of scientists at Lviv Medical University (Ukraine), which plans to conduct new research in pediatrics, but can not plan it properly, because of the great lack in English medium papers in our libraries. Currently there are approximately 20 papers which we are in great need of, and which we have been desperately trying to obtain for nearly a year of time. There is now nothing to do but to request you to help us in getting photocopies of those papers from your country, since we think that your libraries are more complete.
If you ever experienced and suffered from the lack of information, you might understand us, if we would venture to ask you to send us photocopies of those articles through the post. Of cause, we are aware that this would require to make photocopies, travel to the post office, mailing expenses, which at face of on-going pressure of the time makes our request almost unfeasible. So the only we may rely on is your understanding and believe that we would also help to somebody if such a request was sent to us.
If you are kind enough to offer your assistance we would be happy to send you a list of papers in question.
Sincerely,
Sergei V. Gerasimov, M.D., Ph.D.

Chers amis,
Bonne lecture

The whole article is here: Noël .. Quel en est le vrai sens?
In 1991, at a demonstration in front of the United Nations, a Serbian demonstrator yelled out at the Ambassador in his native language, "Why do you treat the Serbs like we are animals." Albright turned on her heels and in her best Serbian dialect replied: "Because you are."
(Madeleine Albright knows Serbian because she spent her childhood there where Serbs helped save her and her family's life. What contributed to her chronic hatred of the Serbs? Probably some childhood conflict that marked her for life.)
Richard Holbrooke unashamedly called Serbs "Murderous Assholes" (New Yorker, Nov. 6, 1995), and in his new book referred to the Serbs as "Evil."
Senator Biden included calling the Serbs, "... illiterates, degenerates, rapists, baby killers and cowards" (Aug. 1, 1993).
On CNN Congressman Obey called the Serbs, "Pigs" and political cartoonists began drawing Serbs as pigs turning over outhouses.
Morton Kondracke called the Serbs "Bastards" on national television.
And I myself remember one Dutch aristocrat and politician, who, in a full anti-Serbian campaign, publicly said that the Serbian Royal Family were just pig slaughterers and merchants.

William -- you frequently repeat that the Jews and Gypsies are the only ones that didn't have a principle of self-defence. Doesn't this already speak against them -- that only the Jews & Gypsies expected to be protected by somebody else?

Your comments regarding Serbs on the web page about Cinderella Nations is hardly factual!
In fact Serbs did not all head for the mountains in Serbia proper. In fact the Orthodox Church had special privleges as far as rule and taxes. It was the Roman Catholic population that was under the greatest pressure and had the most reason to convert to Islam. The reason for this is obvious to the historian and that reason has to do with Rome leading the crusades into the Holy Lands.
Serbia was not reborn after WW I ! Turkish rule of Serbia began after the Battle at the Field of Blackbirds in 1389 and by 1459 Turkey had taken over rule of Serbia totally. The liberation movement began in 1804 and Serbian independence was recognized by 1812.
Croats and Slovenes did not ask the Serbs to form the Kingdom of Serbs Croats and Slovenes. As the War drew to a close, the Austro-Hungarian Empire began to disintegrate. The Croatian Sabor or Parliament met in Zagreb on October 29, 1918 to declare "the Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia" to be a free and independent state. The Habsburg Crown recognized Croatia and transferred the Austro-Hungarian fleet to the Croatian government on October 31st. The Croatian government in Zagreb was fully formed before the fall of Austria on November 3, Germany on November 11, and Hungary on November 13. The Yugoslav National Council of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs was organized in Zagreb on October 15, 1918. This twenty-eight member Council was self-appointed, not elected. Although its president was a Slovene, the Council was dominated by Svetozar Pribicevic, a Serb. On November 24th this self-appointed group called for a common state with Serbia. This is the body so often cited as having "asked" to join Yugoslavia. In fact at the Paris peace conference Croatians submitted a document which had originally been signed by 600,000 Croatians asking for an independent Croatian nation however a notation was made that papers with 450,000 of those signatures had been siezed by the occupying Serbian army. And even with 150,000 signatures it no doubt reflected more of the sentiment of the Croatian people than the self appointed Yugoslav Committee.
And the real abomination is when you state "Yugoslavia between the two wars was peaceful". Nothing could be further from the truth! The popular pascifist Peasant Party leader Stjepan Radic was murdered by a Serb parliamentarian in the Parliament in Belgrade. And you call placing the yoke of a royal dictatorhip around the necks of the people then you are either naive or perpetrating a lie! Muslims in Bosnia bore the brunt of the Serb hatred for Islam with the army carrying out beatings of Muslims. Many non-Serbs were assassinated even on the streets of the cities, such as Dr. Milan Suflj in Zagreb. The dictatorship of the Serbian king was compared in a Look Magazine article with that of Hitler and Mussolini. That dictatorship led to the popularity of the communist party and the ustase movement.
"Germany simply repaid the Croats for their loyalty." Germany held out with the rest of the EU and US until the fall of Vukovar and the refusal of the JNA and Milosevic to stop their proxy terrorists. Germany understood that the Croatians paid the price and deserved independence. In fact it was little democratic Iceland that was among the first to recognize Croatian independence even before the hated Germans! Ironic that fascist statements are made that Croats are somehow genetically fascists! Get laid!

He seems to be well informed. He is also filthy. I leave the debate to the experts, free to express themselves on this page. Indeed, the Serbs regained their freedom before WW I. For me there remains some discrepancy: If the Croatian Sabor declared the Kingdom of Croatia, Slovenia Dalmatia recognized by the Habsburg Crown, then how comes that the other body -- the Yugoslav National Council of Slovenes, Croats & Serbs -- was created later in Zagreb? By which power did this self-appointed Council successfully oppose itself to the previous mentioned Sabor? And why was it dominated by one Serb, Svetozar Pribicevic? WM
I read the answer you gave to my letter, that you published in the October "Communication Page". I don't understand why you point out that "religion isn't a primary motivator either". Motivator for what? And anyway, I did not mention religion in my letter.
I just said that I support Israel's right to exist, and Jew's right to have a state in the land of their ancestors. Are you aware that there had always been Jews in Palestine? That since the middle of 19th century, Jerusalem's population was Jewish in majority?
Five Arab states (Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Egypt) attacked Israel the day the country pronounced her independence in 1948. If the Arabs hadn't attacked, the Palestinians would have had their state in 1948 as well. Arabs refused Palestinians to have a state. Arabs wanted war with Israel, rather than accepting a small Jewish state in the Middle East.
But you are right to say that religion is not the point here. Muslim extremists hate Jews not because of their religion, but just because they are stupid. European left-wing thinkers hate Jews as well, because they are as stupid as the Muslim extremists are. Muslim extremists and left-wing thinkers are not only stupid, they are also very hypocrite. They say, "they are not against Jews, only against Zionism". Why, then, do terrorist attack Jewish communities everywhere in the world, and not only in Israel? Muslim extremists and their friends are just stinky liars!
You are right to say that it is not about religion, because Jews don't hate Muslims. During the Bosnian war, Israel admitted many Slav Muslims as refugees. And any Muslim country who recognizes Israel's right to exist is welcome to have economical, cultural and diplomatic interchange with Israel.
You write that Palestinian terrorism would end as soon as the Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories would be removed. But Israel does not want to remove them under terrorist pressure, because she wants Palestinians to understand that they won't get anything by violence and terrorism.

(Please do not mention my email)
Jean-Loup, your letter doesn't address the issue.
The time of the Rabin-Arafat peace negotiations was an unparalleled idyll for Israelis and Arabs. Not only Palestinians but Jordanians, Egyptians and others had reciprocal trust, which showed that not only peace but -- yes -- friendship might be possible. At this time acts of terror were nonexistent; the terror organizations were dying. All this changed when the Israeli 'Taliban' killed Rabin, according to his own confession, to stop the Oslo Peace accord. He succeeded beyond his own dreams; the peace negotiations stopped, and, when they started again between Arafat and Barak, the spirit was broken. The fault is Arafat's: perhaps he was afraid to share Rabin's fate, perhaps he lacked political vision. In any case he set conditions impossible for Israel to accept. The peace negotiations broke off again. Shortly after, the settler-commandos started to 'nibble' at Palestinian territory in flagrant violation of the Oslo Peace agreement for which Begin got the Nobel Prize. This resurrected Arab terrorism, not vice versa.
Imagine squatters entering your home and refusing to leave under pressure. As a matter of fact, they refuse to leave, pressure or not. Likud's real goal is to give a final mortal blow to the Oslo Peace agreement. The tiny Palestinian territory is being covered by Israeli settlements linked, on top of this, by 'security nets'," making it impossible for the Palestinians to function administratively, economically, culturally. They are obliged to vegetate in 'reservations,' submitted constantly to the bullying settlers who cut their olive groves "for security reasons," attack the local or foreign volunteer agricultural workers under pretext that "terrorists are hidden among them." The goal is to wear out the Palestinian population, make them vegetate under stress and finally leave. This Likud policy is not only tolerated but supported by the NWO as a general tactic to weaken this oil rich part of the world. There is no oil in Palestinian territory, but Israel, even in its tiny parcel plays its own role in the NWO political and military presence. If there were not terror it would have to be invented to justify cracking down on Iraq and Iran and to maintain pressure on Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Pakistan, you name it. When the objectives are attained, Israel, no more needed, may find itself in serious trouble; loyalty, gratitude are not in the NWO's dictionary, especially not for people in this region of the world, Jews, Arabs, whoever. Tom Bates spent fifteen years in the United Kingdom, Normandy and Canada researching this book. In order to understand why his namesake, Corporal Sidney Bates (no relation) of the 1st Battalion The Royal Norfolk Regiment had left the relative safety of his slit trench to advance, in the open, across a meadow in Normandy, firing his Brengun from the hip, to mow down waves of German panzergrenadiers that threatened to overrun his battalion headquarters and, perhaps, change the course of the Normandy campaign. With the help of Sidney's former mates and the local French people, he found the place where, in earning the Victoria Cross, Sidney gave his life.
His search also led him to stories of incredible French courage that, sadly, have been traduced in Daryl Zanuck's otherwise fine movie of Cornelius Ryan's book, The Longest Day.
The third part of the book recounts, in plain, undramatic language, the story of how the strongest and most formidable of all the German fortifications on any of the Allied fronts was captured on D-Day by the men of the 1st Batalion The Suffolk Regiment.
