Ecological weapon -- excellent idea if you know how to use it (10/21)

Today's press informs us about a rat invasion of Guadalupe y Clavo, Mexico. I tried unsuccessfully to find an email address for the Municipality. Finally, I emailed the Mexican Consulate and I report it here because I believe that the topic may be of general interest. It's refreshing to hear about the use of ecological remedies which limit chemical intervention and contribute to healing the planet.

The Municipality in Guadalupe y Clavo drafted an army of cats to fight the rat plague. The results were disappointing. What happened? The problem is that those who used the cats know little about them. Cats are hunters by instinct but they don't like to eat rats. A hungry cat will kill the rat and eat it if there is nothing else to eat and won't be in a hurry to hunt again. But if you feed the cat it will hunt for the pleasure of hunting with renewed energy. I've seen it happen. Senores from Municipio of Guadalupe y Clavo: don't be stingy. Feed the cats and you'll see the difference!

"Linksanwalt" -- or, Vivisection on Milosevic Continues (9/02)

"They" force a defence lawyer on Milosevic "because of his ill health." Milosevic, by himself, defended himself too well and "they" don't want another Dimitrov case. In German the defence lawyer is "Rechtsanwalt." The word "recht" means "right" and in German "link" means left. So, it's a play on words. "Linksanwalt" is slang for a phony defence lawyer who really takes the prosecution's side. Milosevic will be forced to passively watch the spider's net entangle him, quite a way to improve his health. With this turn in events, Milosevic can only hope for a quick merciful death.
